inside the vineyards in a quiet and sunny position, the farm’s
wine cellar is the heart of all the activities. The winery basement
is devoted to the production of wine and winemaking equipment,
modern technology stands on the picturesque space where gigantic
sandstone boulders form three of the four walls of the room. It
is probably the only wine cellar in the world with this constructive
solution in which large rocks that were recovered during the excavation
have been used to construct the walls. Besides the scenic effect,
reminiscent of the ancient Etruscan walls, this ingenious solution,
gives to the environment the ideal conditions to age wine, specifically
it is very demanding to achive the stability of the proper temperature.
Above the cellar and facing the vineyards, almost inside of them,
we find the areas dedicated to our guests and to all those who
want to learn and to experience the world of food in Tuscany.
It is possible to organize wine tastings, events and weddings,
meetings, cultural events, cooking classes, all rigorously using
high quality raw materials and certified in their Tuscan origin

It's amazing how by drinking
a glass of wine, if it is genuine and authentic, it is possibile
to understand many things of the territory in which it was produced.
So the wines of Podere express with their rich, fruity flavor, a
territory rich in colors and scents, beautiful to see and to be
discovered.
The Sangiovese Pomaio (name derived from Latin Pomarium, the place
where fruits are grown) expresses its self in an elegant and original
way but still consistent with the best traditional Tuscan wine.
Sangiovese is the most important variety of this beautiful area
and is the basis of DOCG Chianti and D.O.C.G. Brunello di Montalcino
and Nobile di Montepulciano. The Pomaio vineyards, with their excellent
hilly exposure find the ideal conditions to give their best. |
